Each year, families all over begin to dread the approaching of holiday card season. Gathering each member of the family within one photograph which everyone can agree on has proven to be somewhat of a difficult task. Untimely sneezes, cranky children, awkward smiles; you’ve seen it all.
This year is going to be different. Let’s stray from the holiday picture norm and get a snapshot of your family that can be fondly remembered by all. With that being said, here are some great ideas on how to switch it up this year and ensure you have a new, fresh holiday photo your family and friends will love to get in the mail.
1.) Awkward Family Photo – Most of us are familiar with the often hilarious website AwkwardFamilyPhotos.com. While some of these hopeless pictures provide entertainment for the rest of us and embarrassment for those involved, creating your own “awkward family photo” could be surprisingly fun. Try adding a silly prop this year getting your family to don some hideous Christmas sweaters.
2.) Then and Now – It always sparks fond memories and a funny, sometimes embarrassing moment looking through old photographs. The outfits are outdated and the hair choices are questionable. One fun option for holiday pictures are recreating these images as we are now! Find similar outfits, keep the poses the same and then put the pictures side by side.
