Tejas Hall's founder, Larry Kruzie, has always had a fondness for old western towns and a dream to own and operate his own. Shortly after moving to Texas, Larry became inspired to get started on this dream in Kyle. His ultimate goal was to begin a family venture which would create the opportunities he was never given for his children and future generations.
He started his old town with Tejas Hall. His vision was for the hall to evolve into a restaurant and dance hall but, as a rancher for most of his life, he had little building experience. Fortunately, Larry had tenacity, so in 2000 he bought a band saw and got to work. Larry and his family personally sawed 31 semi-loads of pine trees sourced right out of Bastrop, TX. After two long years of hard work, he had completed Tejas and opened it to the public for dinner and dancing.
Larry eventually found himself in the wedding business and later went on to help create 28 other buildings, but he always has said Tejas is his favorite because of the blood, sweat, and tears that went into it. Now, he’s excited to convert it back to what his intentions for the building were all along…
